Bitcoin (BTC) lost its last support at $35k, decreasing by over 13% in the last week. Meanwhile, the whole crypto market erased 11% during the same period [CoinMarketCap]. Beyond Bitcoin, some currencies managed to avoid the crash, though. Among them, Monero (XMR) and Tron (TRX) stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main reason behind the recent Bitcoin crash seems <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/billybambrough\/2022\/05\/08\/extreme-fear-crypto-crash-suddenly-wipes-200-billion-from-the-price-of-bitcoin-ethereum-bnb-xrp-luna-solana-cardano-and-avalanche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">to point<\/a> to the recent interest rate decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed). <strong>They\u2019re going to raise the interest rates by 0.5% \u2014the higher adjustment in over two decades<\/strong>. The latter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/04\/29\/inflation-latest-eurozone-breaks-another-record-in-april-2022.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">hit a record<\/a>&nbsp;high for the sixth month in a row, with over 7.5% in April. China doesn\u2019t have good news either. A new outbreak of COVID-19 and its subsequent quarantine&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/china\/chinas-widening-covid-curbs-threaten-global-supply-chain-paralysis-2022-04-13\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">might cause<\/a>&nbsp;a global supply chain crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of all of this, <a href=\"https:\/\/finbold.com\/chief-strategist-warns-governments-planning-to-implement-de-facto-bitcoin-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">podle<\/a> Meltem Demirors, Chief Strategy Officer at CoinShares, several governments may be looking to silently ban <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/08\/25\/cryptocurrency-mining-dummies-how-works\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proof-of-Work<\/a> (PoW) mining \u2014and thus, Bitcoin. They\u2019d allege <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2021\/05\/16\/faq-cryptocurrencies-pollution-climate-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">energy concerns<\/a>, but perhaps the main reason would be to stop further decentralization. A proposal to ban PoW coins was recently rejected in the European Union, indeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the circumstances continue as currently, <strong>Bitcoin could crash to a low of $28,000 &#8211; $21,000 soon<\/strong>, as indicated by some <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CryptoCapo_\/status\/1522537037445881858\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">expert traders<\/a>. On the other hand, other experts believe there\u2019s still one All-Time-High (ATH) ahead before a neutral market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bitcoin crashed, but <strong>Monero and Tron resist<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Probably thanks to its new <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/12\/06\/stablecoins-and-types-an-easy-and-brief-lesson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">algorithmic stablecoin<\/a>, Tron (TRX) increased by over 14% in the last week. The new Decentralized USD (USDD) is now live on this blockchain, and it\u2019ll be also available on Ethereum and BNB Chain via the BitTorrent network\u2019s cross-chain protocol. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hejustinsun.com\/post\/an-open-letter-on-the-issuance-of-usdd-a-decentralized-algorithmic-stablecoin-on-tron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ozn\u00e1men\u00ed<\/a> reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cUSDD will be pegged to the underlying asset, TRX, and issued in a decentralized manner. When USDD&#8217;s price is lower than 1 USD, users and arbitrageurs can send 1 USDD to the system and receive 1 USD worth of TRX. When USDD&#8217;s price is higher than 1 USD, users and arbitrageurs can send 1 USD worth of TRX to the decentralized system and receive 1 USDD.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, the non-custodial exchanges Alfacash and Alfacash Store; and the payment processor ALFAcoins <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2022\/04\/26\/tron-trc-20-tether-trc-20-usdc-now-alfacash-store-alfacoins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently added<\/a> this asset to their list.
