El ciberdelito no se detiene. Cada d\u00eda m\u00e1s, los delincuentes tienen nuevos trucos para robar criptomonedas de los propietarios y las casas de cambio. Y la Oficina Federal de Investigaciones de los Estados Unidos (FBI) quiere que todos sepan que est\u00e1n ah\u00ed afuera, esperando el m\u00e1s m\u00ednimo error de la v\u00edctima. Esta vez, est\u00e1n robando criptomonedas utilizando el n\u00famero de tel\u00e9fono de la v\u00edctima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como lo indica un advertencia reciente<\/a>, emitido por el FBI a trav\u00e9s de un TLP: Notificaci\u00f3n de la industria privada (PIN) VERDE, Algunos actores maliciosos est\u00e1n apuntando a los propietarios de criptomonedas en todo el mundo con diferentes tipos de ataques. <\/strong>Uno de los m\u00e1s populares \u00faltimamente es el llamado "intercambio de SIM" o secuestro de SIM. Como sugiere el nombre, \u00e9ste consiste en robarle a la v\u00edctima n\u00famero de tel\u00e9fono<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El ladr\u00f3n logra este objetivo identificando a la v\u00edctima y sus datos. Luego, llaman a un representante de servicio al cliente de la compa\u00f1\u00eda de telefon\u00eda m\u00f3vil involucrada. Pretenden ser la v\u00edctima y le dicen al representante algunas mentiras (como si hubieran perdido sus tel\u00e9fonos<\/a>) para cambiar el n\u00famero de tel\u00e9fono a una nueva tarjeta SIM bajo su control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una vez que esto suceda<\/a>, proceden a restablecer todas las contrase\u00f1as disponibles, incluido el correo electr\u00f3nico, la nube e incluso las cuentas de intercambio de cifrado<\/strong>. Por lo general, las personas eligen la autenticaci\u00f3n de dos factores utilizando sus n\u00fameros de tel\u00e9fono, por lo que el proceso para el ladr\u00f3n no es tan dif\u00edcil. Las nuevas contrase\u00f1as se les env\u00edan por mensaje de texto o por correo electr\u00f3nico (ya pirateado). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De esta forma, el delincuente ya tiene pleno acceso a las cuentas de la v\u00edctima. Por lo tanto, pueden transferir r\u00e1pidamente todas las criptomonedas que encuentren a sus propias carteras<\/a>, completando con \u00e9xito el robo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vishing: otra advertencia criptogr\u00e1fica del FBI<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ya hemos hablado sobre <\/a>suplantaci\u00f3n de identidad<\/a>. Es una versi\u00f3n falsa de algo (sitio web, aplicaci\u00f3n, software, mensaje, llamada\u2026), especialmente dise\u00f1ada para enga\u00f1ar a las personas y obtener de ellas informaci\u00f3n valiosa, como credenciales y claves bancarias o de criptomonedas. Cuando este fraude se realiza a trav\u00e9s de llamadas de voz, se denomina "vishing".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El FBI tambi\u00e9n advirti\u00f3 sobre este tipo de robos, porque cada vez es m\u00e1s com\u00fan.<\/strong> En un caso habitual de vishing, la v\u00edctima recibe primero alg\u00fan tipo de mensaje o correo electr\u00f3nico, aparentemente de su plataforma de pago o intercambio de criptomonedas, anunciando que existe alg\u00fan tipo de problema con sus cuentas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La estafa<\/a> se puede hacer \u00edntegramente por correo electr\u00f3nico, pero a veces animan a las v\u00edctimas a llamar. En otros casos, las v\u00edctimas buscan ayuda llamando a un n\u00famero de soporte fraudulento, o los defraudadores llaman directamente a las v\u00edctimas, haci\u00e9ndose pasar por determinadas empresas. Posteriormente, por tel\u00e9fono, logran convencer a las v\u00edctimas para que les entreguen sus claves privadas o credenciales. A veces, incluso les piden dinero, alegando cuestiones regulatorias o fiscales<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como recomendaci\u00f3n el FBI alent\u00f3 a los usuarios de cifrado a habilitar la autenticaci\u00f3n de m\u00faltiples factores (como credenciales en papel)<\/strong> en todas sus cuentas de criptomonedas. Asimismo, aconsejan mantener en privado la vida financiera y personal, denegar las solicitudes de descargas sospechosas y \/ o acceso remoto, y contactar siempre con los servicios utilizados (ie cripto-intercambios) solo a trav\u00e9s de los canales oficiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
