Those \u201cearly\u201d days might be not only a few weeks after the release but a few years. Many crypto-early-birds have got rich at this point, and, apparently, a Ukrainian politician is one of them, with Monero (XMR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/declarations.com.ua\/declaration\/nacp_7668a8c1-35c9-4f2d-887a-42b1da0cd701\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">property declaration<\/a>, made to all public officials in Ukraine, <strong>Rostislav Solod, a member of the city council in the town of Kramatorsk, bought 185,000 XMR in March 2015<\/strong>. This means, barely a year after the initial release of such cryptocurrency, when its price was around 0,3 &#8211; 0,6 USD per unit. This would be equivalent to around 58,100 USD, and a great inversion nowadays, because those <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/09\/09\/how-to-make-thousands-dollars-defi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cheap tokens<\/a> have increased their price to over 131 USD per unit [CoinMarketCap]. <strong>This Ukrainian politician now owns roughly 24.2M dollars in Monero.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, in other words, <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/09\/07\/getting-rich-wrecking-most-popular-cryptocurrency-myths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he indeed got rich<\/a> by holding this cryptocurrency since five years ago. His reasons to buy such crypto are unknown, but, if he wanted some privacy, that it\u2019s gone now. However, we can\u2019t know if he has even more XMR in other wallets, or other privacy coins as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Legal cryptos in Ukraine<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By the time Solod bought the asset, Ukraine was kind of hostile with cryptocurrencies in general. Even three years later the situation wasn\u2019t better, but worse. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/bitcoin-ukraine-became-the-wild-east-of-cryptocurrencies-blockchain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">some reports<\/a>, the crypto miners suffered some raids by the national security services, who would confiscate their equipment and allegedly&nbsp;steal their cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily, the legal framework <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/08\/18\/what-is-cryptocurrency-why-should-care-reasons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">about cryptocurrencies<\/a> in this country has evolved into something clearer and not-so-drastic. Every service provider will need to register with this entity to operate inside the country, and these assets won\u2019t be legal tender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But cryptocurrencies will be completely legal to use and spend to average users, even though the government will consider as the official owner only the entity that possesses the private keys. Now, as for the private coins like Monero, they don\u2019t seem to be considering a ban or specific restriction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s not the case with other countries, entities, and companies. Europol <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/10\/09\/europol-labels-privacy-methods-cryptocurrencies-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has declared them<\/a> dangerous, South Korea it\u2019s on the edge of banning them, and exchanges like Bithumb, ShapeShift, Huobi, Coincheck, and Liquid have <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/11\/10\/monero-other-privacy-coins-being-delisted-exchanges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delisted these coins<\/a> from their platforms due to regulatory or banking pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Featured Image by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monero.how\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Monero How<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Wanna trade\u00a0BTC, XMR,\u00a0and other tokens?
