Its last All-Time-High (ATH) has been broken and, barely 12 days after, <strong>it\u2019s surpassed other several important marks: $22k, $24k, $26k, and even (briefly) $28k. <\/strong>Bitcoin is running to $30k, but not without shaking in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its current price is around $27k and keeps shaking up and down, undecided. As indicated by Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, now it\u2019s possibly the turn for retail investors after the huge <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/12\/16\/bitcoin-breaks-20k-ath-will-last-this-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">institutional investments<\/a> this year. Indeed, for him, the last rally in the price couldn\u2019t be caused by closed-by-holidays institutions, but by people in front of their devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So $25k* on 25th, three new ATHs $24.7, $24.8 and $25k in  a day. You think institutions did that? On Christmas day? Retail did it &#8211; only people near a keyboard.<br><br>(*$25k if you pick <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Bitstamp?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@bitstamp<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/krakenfx?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@krakenfx<\/a> tho not quite on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bitfinex?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@bitfinex<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6PmiEcdn7v\">pic.twitter.com\/6PmiEcdn7v<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Adam Back (@adam3us) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/adam3us\/status\/1342783806827278341?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 26, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it\u2019s worth mentioning that the multinational investment management firm BlackRock (often called the \u201cworld&#8217;s largest shadow bank\u201d) <strong>will probably invest in Bitcoin and\/or cryptos pretty soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its current CEO, Laurence Fink, previously suggested that Bitcoin can rival the dollar as a reserve currency. And now they\u2019re looking for a new \u201cBlockchain Lead\u201d, which might be considered as a crypto investment manager, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustnodes.com\/2020\/12\/27\/blackrock-looking-to-invest-in-bitcoin-and-eth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">some reports<\/a>. This would mean they\u2019re aiming to jump into Bitcoin by the next 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the recent lawsuit against Ripple Labs can have something to do as well with the last Bitcoin rally. Experts like <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamScochran\/status\/1342952196841873409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Adam Cochran<\/a>, partner at Cinneamhain Ventures, are assuming that <strong>most of the panic-sold XRP ended up into Bitcoin, instead of fiat money.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the fact that the price of XRP has dropped by 50% after <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/12\/23\/sec-sued-ripple-xrp-lost-almost-40-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the lawsuit<\/a> announcement by SEC, that\u2019d be a really great flow for the first cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bitcoin close to $30k, but not alt-season<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While Bitcoin is having a great time with <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/08\/22\/bitcoin-to-the-moon-5-predictions-for-2021-and-beyond\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bright predictions<\/a>, that\u2019s not the case for most altcoins in slumber or straight in red numbers. Maybe only Ethereum it\u2019s the exemption, <strong>having reached the $700 mark per unit for the first time since 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tether (USDT) may not count because <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/12\/06\/stablecoins-and-types-an-easy-and-brief-lesson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">it\u2019s a stablecoin<\/a>. However, the STABLE Act, a bill proposed recently by U.S. Congress, isn\u2019t great news for it. And currencies like Bitcoin Cash (BCH), <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/11\/04\/what-litecoin-ultimate-history-silver-cryptocurrencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Litecoin (LTC),<\/a> Cardano (ADA), EOS, Stellar (XLM), and NEM (XEM) are following the negative example. As for the <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/09\/09\/how-to-make-thousands-dollars-defi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DeFi ecosystem<\/a>, we can say it\u2019s kind of stagnant lately. The last month has increased by 9%, <strong>but that\u2019s compared with the previous 20%+ growth from November<\/strong>; according to DeFiPulse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bitcoin dominance is still around 69.3%, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/2020\/11\/14\/ethereum-2-new-features-prices-more-ethereum-chains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ethereum<\/a> with barely 10.7% and Tether with 2.9% [CoinMarketCap].
