We didn\u2019t have a good 2022, diving into a harsh crypto winter. However, isn\u2019t our first time, and it likely won\u2019t be the last one either. The new year comes with new promises, and <strong>some interesting crypto trends for 2023 are already in development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, we have hopes, fears, and predictions while waiting for the future. This time, the big picture doesn\u2019t seem very favorable worldwide, but we can wait for good things as well. First things first, though. Before considering the future, the past is giving us some <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/12\/28\/crypto-2022-most-important-events-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">useful clues<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wrapping up Crypto in 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Bitcoin (BTC) decreased by over 64% in 2022<\/strong>, and the total cryptocurrency market cap decreased by over 63% [CMC]. Inflation is rising globally, also affecting fiat currencies. However, some tokens increased this year. The biggest gainer, according to CoinGecko, was Nest Protocol (NEST), a decentralized pricing oracle platform on <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/08\/04\/two-ethereum-etc-eth-why-there-may-be-more-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ethereum<\/a> (+243%).<br><\/li><li><strong>Numerous crypto companies and platforms went out of business in 2022. <\/strong>In the gloomy list, we have <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/05\/14\/terra-ust-collapse-what-means-crypto-market-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u30c6\u30e9\uff08LUNA\uff09<\/a>, with losses calculated at $40 billion. It follows the crypto fund <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/07\/21\/crypto-contagion-three-arrows-downfall-millionaire-victims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u30b9\u30ea\u30fc\u30a2\u30ed\u30fc\u30ba\u30ad\u30e3\u30d4\u30bf\u30eb<\/a> (- $3.5 billion), and the <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/12\/14\/ftx-exchange-crash-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">crypto exchange FTX<\/a> ($3 billion). The mining company Core Scientific filed for bankruptcy in December. The Central African Republic made Bitcoin <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2021\/09\/19\/%e3%83%93%e3%83%83%e3%83%88%e3%82%b3%e3%82%a4%e3%83%b3-%e6%b3%95%e5%ae%9a%e9%80%9a%e8%b2%a8-%e3%82%b5%e3%83%ab%e3%83%90%e3%83%89%e3%83%bc%e3%83%ab-%e3%83%91%e3%83%8a%e3%83%9e-%e3%82%a6%e3%82%af\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u6cd5\u5b9a\u901a\u8ca8<\/a>, while Cuba and <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/12\/01\/bitcoin-shows-bullish-signs-us-brazil-announcements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u30d6\u30e9\u30b8\u30eb<\/a> legalized crypto payments. Additionally, <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/07\/04\/bitcoin-still-bearish-mexico-russia-aim-adoption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u30e1\u30ad\u30b7\u30b3<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/play.anghami.com\/episode\/1023302293\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Tonga<\/a>, Arizona (US), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2022\/11\/14\/bitcoin-cash-could-be-legal-tender-in-st-kitts-by-march-prime-minister-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Saint Kitts and Nevis<\/a> already have proposals to make crypto legal tender.<br><\/li><li>According to DeFi Yield, <strong>around $50.9 billion have been lost to crypto hacks and exit scams in 2022.<\/strong> Besides, as SpyCloud discovered, around 90% of companies were hit by ransomware in 2022. For Kaspersky Lab, cryptojacking variants increased by over 230% compared to last year.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Some crypto trends for 2023<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>The lows for the crypto winter may yet to come, <\/strong>but they could be followed by a new bull run. That\u2019s, at least, what the investment firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaneck.com\/us\/en\/blogs\/digital-assets\/matthew-sigel-11-crypto-predictions-for-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">VanEck<\/a> predicts. For them, Bitcoin (BTC) can decrease to $10,000 in Q1 2023 \u201camid a wave of miner bankruptcies\u201d. But the first crypto <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2022\/12\/30\/new-year-new-bitcoin-2023-predictions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">will recover<\/a> and reach $30,000 in the second half of 2023. Lower global inflation is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/the-worst-is-yet-come-curse-high-inflation-2022-12-08\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">expected<\/a> by the end of the year.<br><\/li><li>The billionaire disasters occasioned by Terra (LUNA), Three Arrows Capital, FTX, and other companies, like Celsius and Voyager, aren\u2019t being overlooked by lawmakers worldwide. Despite the sharp decrease in daily <a href=\"https:\/\/alfacash.blog\/ja\/2021\/04\/11\/what-are-non-fungible-tokens-nfts-why-fever-ultimate-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NFT<\/a> sales in 2022 (+77%), NFT-related US trademarks applications increased by over 220% this year, compared with 2021 [<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KondoudisLaw\/status\/1589635988992557056\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Mike Kondoudis<\/a>]. Those trademarks could lead to new products and services in 2023, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasdaq.com\/articles\/web3-the-metaverse-and-crypto%3A-trends-to-expect-in-2023-and-beyond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">decentralized social networks<\/a> and metaverses.<br><\/li><li><strong>Ransomware attacks will get more aggressive for big companies<\/strong> and organizations in 2023. To the cybersecurity firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reliaquest.com\/ransomware-trends-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ReliaQuest<\/a>, hackers will pick bigger targets with bigger ransoms in the governmental sector. To <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.avast.com\/2023-predictions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Avast<\/a>, the scams will keep increasing in 2023, including romance scams, COVID-19 scams, and tech support scams. Likewise, the sales of hardware wallets <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/114687\/crypto-cold-wallets-in-ledger-trezor-sales-moon-after-ftx-collapse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">skyrocketed<\/a> after the FTX fiasco.
