Voor het geval u het niet weet of herinnert, is een financieel derivaat een monetair contract (meestal voor investeringen) dat zijn waarde ontleent aan een onderliggende entiteit, zoals activa, indexen, rentetarieven of andere. In ons geval bepalen de cryptoderivaten hun waarde op basis van de prestaties van de geselecteerde cryptoactiva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verschillende bedrijven bieden deze service aan particuliere beleggers over de hele wereld, in de vorm van contracts for difference (CFD's), opties, futures en exchange-traded notes (ETN). echter, de Financi\u00eble Gedragsautoriteit<\/a> (FCA) uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk beschouwt dit soort instrumenten niet als veilig. Daarbij hebben ze net besloten om deze activiteiten (althans voor retailklanten) in het land te verbieden.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het VK heeft tot op heden geen gevestigde regelgevingskader<\/a> voor cryptocurrencies, maar er zijn bepaalde regels die iedereen zou moeten volgen, vooral als het van een bedrijf is. Over deze recente aankondiging zei Sheldon Mills, interim Executive Director of Strategy & Competition bij de FCA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDit verbod geeft weer hoe serieus we de mogelijke schade voor retailconsumenten in deze producten beschouwen. Consumentenbescherming staat hierbij voorop. Aanzienlijke prijsvolatiliteit, gecombineerd met de inherente problemen van het betrouwbaar waarderen van crypto-activa, plaatst retailconsumenten met een hoog risico op verliezen door het verhandelen van crypto-derivaten. We hebben bewijs dat dit op grote schaal gebeurt. Het verbod biedt een passend beschermingsniveau\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Aangezien het verbod lijkt te komen van de weinige kennis die de retailklanten<\/a> kan hebben, zou het mogelijk tijdelijk zijn, totdat het ecosysteem geavanceerder en begrepen is. Ondertussen, het gebruik van crypto-derivaten door een particuliere klant is vanaf 6 januari 2021 wettelijk niet meer mogelijk. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoe zit het met directe crypto's?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

De derivaten zijn specifiek een financieel hulpmiddel dat wordt aangeboden door bedrijven en dat aan de strengste regelgeving zou moeten worden onderworpen, omdat er mogelijk zware teleurstellingen en oplichting rond deze instrumenten zijn. De cryptocurrencies op zich zijn echter een ander verhaal. Ze kunnen presenteren sommige risico's<\/a>, maar ze zijn ook erg handig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoals we tot nu toe misschien weten, de meeste cryptocurrencies<\/a> bestaande zijn gedecentraliseerd, wat betekent: ze zijn vrij van de controle van welke instelling dan ook en bijna iedereen heeft er zonder barri\u00e8res toegang toe<\/strong>. Dus zelfs als een land aan bepaalde beperkingen lijdt, kunnen zijn burgers nog steeds enkele crypto's en gerelateerde platforms gebruiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dat is echter niet het geval voor Engeland en het hele VK. Ze zijn inderdaad erg open en flexibel geweest met cryptocurrencies binnen hun wetten, dus het is nog steeds volkomen legaal om cryptocurrencies rechtstreeks te kopen en verkopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
