Dit jaar was voor veel mensen niet gemakkelijk. Er zijn tot nu toe erg slechte dingen gebeurd, maar waarschijnlijk het ergste voor iedereen is de ziekte COVID-19,<\/strong> door de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO) sinds maart uitgeroepen tot pandemie; en de verschrikkelijke gevolgen ervan over de hele wereld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met +37.7M wereldwijde gevallen<\/a>, +1 miljoen doden en hele landen en grenzen opgesloten in strikte quarantaine, de economische schade stond vanaf het begin op het punt om te exploderen. Aandelenmarkten dalend<\/a>, torenhoge werkloosheidscijfers, landen op de rand van een recessie en zelfs de belangrijkste olie-index kelderde dit jaar tot boven nul... nou, we hebben ongetwijfeld betere momenten gehad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Te midden van deze hele ramp is er echter goed nieuws: de totale marktkapitalisatie van cryptocurrency heeft niet alleen de algemene bloedbad<\/a> op de markten maar is erin geslaagd om +157% te laten groeien sinds de pandemie in maart begon,<\/strong> volgens CoinMarketCap-gegevens. Op dat moment was de marktkapitalisatie +141,1 miljard; terwijl het tot op heden is gestegen tot +363B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bitcoin (BTC)<\/a>, de eerste cryptocurrency, heeft die stijgende trend gevolgd, vooral deze maand. Sinds het begin van de pandemie is deze muntprijs met +51% gestegen,<\/strong> van 7.600 USD tot ongeveer 11.500 USD. Dit is niet de hoogste prijs van het jaar, maar is heel dichtbij en met wat goede voorspellingen erover<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bovendien, volgens een recent onderzoek<\/a> by the University of Cambridge, there are at least \u201c101 million unique cryptoasset users across 191 million accounts opened at service providers in Q3 2020\u201d worldwide. Compared to the user base presented by the same report in 2018, this is a significant 189% increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ondertussen presteerde de Amerikaanse dollar (USD) niet zo goed tegenover de COVID-19. Als we kijken naar de US Dollar Index (USDX, DXY, DX \u2013 een maatstaf voor de waarde van de USD ten opzichte van een mandje vreemde valuta), we merken op dat de waarde sinds maart met ten minste 9,3% is gedaald.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het feit is dit: Bitcoin en cryptocurrencies exploderen terwijl USD langzaam maar zeker in verval raakt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welnu, we kunnen zeggen dat de pandemie niet helpt en dat de geschiedenis van de USD op zich niet zo goed is. Er is inderdaad berekend dat deze valuta sinds 1971 98% van zijn waarde heeft verloren in vergelijking met goud. Bovendien is de Amerikaanse Federal Reserve de laatste tijd erg toegewijd om steeds meer miljoenen bij te drukken, wat niet goed is; zoals de Op zoek naar Alpha's experts<\/a> wees erop:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We kunnen zeggen Bitcoin en zijn paren zijn ook leuke alternatieven: snel, draagbaar en beschikbaar in de hele wereld. <\/strong>Dat is waarschijnlijk de reden waarom zoveel mensen hebben besloten dit jaar de cryptocurrency-wereld te betreden, in feite op zoek naar een goede haven voor hun geld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trouwens, gezien de enorme explosie in DeFi-apps<\/a> en Opbrengst landbouw<\/a> dit jaar (met +11B ge\u00efnvesteerd<\/a> tot nu toe), is het helemaal niet raar dat de totale marktkapitalisatie van cryptocurrency in 2020 omhooggeschoten is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
