Sinds december 2017 hebben we de prijs van Bitcoin niet meer zo dicht bij zijn laatste All-Time-High (ATH) gezien. Dat was inderdaad een heel vrolijk kerstfeest want we bereikten al een tijdje de verbazingwekkende grens van 20.000 USD per munt. Helaas ging de prijs van Bitcoin daarna alleen maar naar beneden en bleef een jaar later amper op 3.200 USD. Een harde en pijnlijke crash na het aanraken van de lucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gelukkig voor ons lijkt het erop dat er nu een nieuwe bull run aankomt. Volgens CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin heeft zojuist de grens van 15.000 USD weer overschreden, wat betekent dat er nog maar 33% over is om de laatste ATH te herhalen.<\/strong> De prijs is in het groen, stijgt nog meer, en het is niet de enige hierin. Altcoins<\/a> zoals Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Litecoins (LTC),<\/a> Cardano (ADA) en Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) volgen dit voorbeeld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De redenen voor deze bull run worden toegeschreven aan de toename van institutionele steun voor cryptocurrencies (zoals PayPal-adoptie<\/a>), en de gepubliceerde presidentsverkiezingen in de Verenigde Staten. De Amerikaanse dollar is wereldwijd de referentievaluta en het land herbergt een groot aantal grote crypto-bedrijven. Dat is de reden waarom de resultaten van deze verkiezing op de een of andere manier van invloed kunnen zijn op de cryptocurrency-markt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Er wordt gezegd dat Donald Trump tegen cryptocurrencies is, terwijl Joe Biden er een neutraler standpunt over heeft ingenomen. De uiteindelijke uitslag van de verkiezing is op het moment van schrijven nog niet klaar, maar het lijkt erop de kandidaat Joe Biden neemt het voortouw, en misschien zou dat goed zijn voor Bitcoin en metgezellen<\/strong>. Maar ga zo door in de toekomst vanaf nu zou roekeloos zijn<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wordt een prijstheorie waarheid?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In december 2016 deelden de huidige Chief Blockchain Architect bij General Motors en Bitcoin-enthousiasteling Michael B. Casey een interessante langetermijnprijstheorie voor de eerste cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens zijn analyse<\/a>, Bitcoin heeft een duidelijke neiging om lijden aan grote financi\u00eble bubbels<\/a>, waarvan de stadia kunnen worden gelijkgesteld met Gartner's hype cycle, een systeem om de volwassenheid van nieuwe technologie in het wild weer te geven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het zijn vijf fasen:<\/strong> Technology Trigger (lancering en eerste tests van het product), Piek van opgeblazen verwachtingen (reclame plus enig succes en enkele mislukkingen), Trough of Disillusionment (meer mislukkingen en sommige investeerders die aftreden), Slope of Enlightenment (het product begint meer begrepen en voorzichtig geadopteerd) en Plateau of Productivity (mainstream-adoptie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met de prijs van Bitcoin<\/a>, zijn er dan vijf gelijkwaardige fasen: Bull Run (uitbundige prijsstijging), Irrational Exuberance (piek van de stijging), Crash (daling), Boring Low (de prijs stabiliseert een tijdje), Volatilic Rise (stappen naar een nieuwe stijging) en Next Bull Run (de cyclus opnieuw starten).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tegen die tijd (2016) telde Casey zes volledige cycli voor deze theorie, eindigend in 2017<\/strong> (hij raadde de maand niet, maar we hadden de laatste Bull Run in december van dat jaar) en met toenemende jaren ertussen. Eerst was het \u00e9\u00e9n jaar (2010-2011), toen twee (2011-2013) en toen vier (2013-2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het kunnen er weer vier zijn voor de volgende 2021? De aanwijzingen wijzen erop. Maar we zullen nog even moeten wachten om erachter te komen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
