Afgelopen 22 december de Amerikaanse Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) onthulde een rechtszaak tegen Ripple Labs<\/strong> en twee van zijn belangrijkste leiders omdat ze naar verluidt een "$1,3 miljard niet-geregistreerde effectenaanbieding" hebben gedaan bij XRP. Dus ze beschouwen dit token nu als een beveiliging in plaats van een valuta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De ergste gevolgen moeten waarschijnlijk nog komen, maar de XRP-prijs is verloren<\/a> tot nu toe ongeveer 60%, en erger. Verschillende beurzen en cryptobedrijven hebben besloten dit token van hun platforms te verwijderen vanwege de SEC-aankondiging. Dat is omdat de rechtszaak kan van invloed zijn op externe delen in de Verenigde Staten als ze commercieel handelen met XRP<\/strong> (verklaarde voor nu illegale beveiliging daar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zo, bedrijven houden van<\/a> Bitwise, Crypto.com, OSL, CrossTower, Beaxy, Simplex, Bitstamp en Coinbase hebben besloten om tot nader order de XRP-handel op hun platforms te stoppen, hetzij voor hun Amerikaanse klanten, hetzij voor allemaal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gezien de delicate situatie rond Ripple Labs en XRP in de Verenigde Staten<\/a>, hebben we ook besloten om de XRP-handel op Alfacash voor inwoners van de VS op te schorten. De handel wordt volledig opgeschort op maandag 11 januari 2021 om 06.00 uur UTC en tot nader order. <\/strong>Ondertussen kunnen de Europese XRP-gebruikers (en gebruikers uit andere landen) er nog steeds mee handelen, aangezien de rechtszaak alleen de Amerikaanse jurisdictie treft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wat biedt de toekomst voor Ripple en XRP?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Is dit het einde van Ripple? en XRP<\/a>? Waarschijnlijk niet. Zoals ze eerder hebben aangegeven, is amper 5% van hun gebruikersbestand Amerikaanse ingezetenen, en ze bereiden zich voor om het land te verlaten als dat nodig is, maar niet zonder terug te vechten.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acht jaar lang hebben we producten gebouwd die honderden klanten helpen pijnpunten rond wereldwijde betalingen op te lossen - we zullen ons bedrijf verdedigen en kijken ernaar uit om deze kwestie voor de rechtbank te schikken om eindelijk duidelijkheid te krijgen voor de Amerikaanse crypto-industrie\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Trouwens, de laatste SEC-president, Jay Clayton (bekend om zijn scepsis tegenover de cryptowereld), nam ontslag net na het ondertekenen van de rechtszaak tegen Ripple. De vacature<\/a> wordt tijdelijk overgenomen door Elad Roisman, die vriendelijker is gebleken over cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is natuurlijk een enorme klap voor Ripple en XRP. Het is echter onwaarschijnlijk dat een van de meest gewaardeerde cryptocurrencies zo gemakkelijk kan worden verwijderd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
