Sinds de laatste All-Time-High (ATH) eind februari had Ethereum (ETH) een prijscorrectie van meer dan 26%. Er is nu echter goed nieuws rond deze blockchain. Meer spraakmakende investeringen en adopties kunnen de valuta binnenkort weer een boost geven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om te beginnen moeten we een nieuw record vermelden, zo niet in prijs. De omzet van de mijnwerker bereikte vorige maand een ATH, met meer dan $1.3b. <\/strong>De mijnbouwactiviteit zag een toename<\/a> van meer dan 16%, maar het totaal werd ook gemaakt van transactiekosten, met bijna 53%. Geen wonder: afgelopen februari waren de kosten op Ethereum<\/a> varieerde van $16 tot bijna $40 per transactie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aan de andere kant kunnen de hoge kosten winstgevend zijn voor miners, maar helemaal niet voor gebruikers. Gelukkig voor velen, Vitalik Buterin voorgesteld<\/a> om het Ethereum-verbeteringsvoorstel (EIP) #3298 op te nemen in de volgende Londense update voor juli. Dat zou betekenen dat er geen gasrestituties meer zijn, wat kan bijdragen aan een verlaging van de gasvraag en -prijs. En vanaf nu lijkt het te werken, want sinds de aankondiging zijn de gasprijzen gedaald naar $12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grijswaardeninvesteringen<\/a> maakt hiervan gebruik om meer ETH aan zijn fonds toe te voegen. Dus begonnen ze maart de dip kopen<\/a> met 3.347 ETH meer voor hun enorme portemonnee van 3.17m ETH.<\/strong> Naast dit bedrijf heeft de Canadian Evolve Funds Group zojuist een prospectus ingediend voor een ether exchange-traded fund (ETF). Indien goedgekeurd, zou het zijn de seconde<\/a> van zijn soort in het land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten slotte heeft Amazon net ook Ethereum omarmd. Ze hebben ondersteuning voor dit platform toegevoegd aan hun beheerde blockchain<\/a> service in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Volgens hun post<\/a>, "met deze lancering kunnen AWS-klanten gemakkelijk binnen enkele minuten Ethereum-nodes inrichten". Vanuit een bullish benadering zou dat een gemakkelijkere ETH-adoptie voor bedrijven betekenen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een nadeel: Furucombo-hack<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ondanks het goede nieuws is niet alles even rooskleurig. Onlangs, het op Ethereum gebaseerde DeFi-protocol Furucombo werd gehackt door meer dan $14m<\/strong>. De verantwoordelijke achter de aanval beheerd<\/a> om de controle over Furucombo's proxy smart contract over te nemen, waardoor hij illegaal ETH- en ERC-20-tokens kon intrekken, inclusief DAI<\/a> en USDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vervolgens gebruikte de hacker de mixer Tornado Cash om hun transacties te dekken, waarbij cryptocurrencies on-chain werden geruild. Het totale cijfer van de overval ($14m) is dus nauwelijks een benadering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furucombo wordt gebruikt om een DeFi investeringsstrategie<\/a> met transacties in meerdere stappen, zonder kennis van programmeren. Dat is een aantrekkelijke optie voor tal van investeerders, die nu door de hack worden getroffen. Gelukkig voor hen zei Hsuan-Ting, CEO van crypto-exchange Dinngo, het bedrijf achter Furucombo, dat ze een mitigatieplan voorbereiden en dat de gebruikers zich geen zorgen hoeven te maken over hun geld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
