O ransomware \u00e9 um tipo de malware que pode afetar qualquer pessoa no mundo e costuma pedir pagamentos em criptomoedas ap\u00f3s sequestrar todos os seus dados remotamente. De acordo com um estudo recente da empresa de seguran\u00e7a cibern\u00e9tica Bitdefender, houve um aumento de 715% ano a ano nos ataques de ransomware detectados.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por outro lado, a \u00faltima previs\u00e3o de Cybersecurity Ventures<\/a> estima que os custos globais com danos de ransomware chegar\u00e3o a $20 bilh\u00f5es em 2021, com ataques a empresas a cada 11 segundos. Sem d\u00favida, isso \u00e9 uma coisa muito ruim, mas agora o pesquisador Florian Roth, CTO da Nextron Systems, lan\u00e7ou uma nova vacina digital para matar grandes variedades de ransomware antes que infectem completamente os dispositivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chamado de \u201cRaccine\u201d por Roth, este \u00e9 um software de c\u00f3digo aberto que qualquer pessoa pode baixar e instalar do GitHub<\/a>. \u00c9 projetado especificamente para encerrar qualquer processo que tente excluir c\u00f3pias de sombra de volume do Windows (o sistema operacional mais afetado),<\/strong> via programa vssadmin.exe. Isso ocorre porque a primeira coisa que o ransomware faz, mesmo antes de criptografar o dispositivo, \u00e9 excluir essas c\u00f3pias; j\u00e1 que s\u00e3o backups autom\u00e1ticos dos quais um usu\u00e1rio pode recuperar dados perdidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como Roth indicou sobre isso:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe see ransomware delete all shadow copies using vssadmin pretty often. What if we could just intercept that request and kill the invoking process? Let’s try to create a simple vaccine (\u2026) We register a debugger [computer program] for vssadmin.exe which is our compiled raccine.exe. Raccine is a binary, that first collects all PIDs [Process IDs] of the parent processes and then tries to kill all parent processes\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Deste modo, o Raccine mataria o ransomware antes que a infec\u00e7\u00e3o se propagasse e teria a chance de criptografar os arquivos<\/strong> e pedir por uma criptomoeda<\/a> resgate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No entanto, ainda tem algumas desvantagens, porque esta primeira vers\u00e3o da vacina pode encerrar softwares leg\u00edtimos que usam vssadmin.exe como parte de suas rotinas e n\u00e3o funciona para ransomware que usa m\u00e9todos diferentes para vssadmin.exe. Roth prometeu novas fun\u00e7\u00f5es para o futuro, no entanto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tr\u00edade do escudo tenta matar a tr\u00edade do mal: mantenha atualizado o sistema operacional, antiv\u00edrus e firmware de todos os seus dispositivos inteligentes, n\u00e3o abra links ou arquivos anexados de e-mails duvidosos e baixe arquivos e software apenas dos sites oficiais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al\u00e9m disso, em caso de infec\u00e7\u00e3o, voc\u00ea deve acessar sites como Chega de resgate<\/a>, que oferecem ferramentas gratuitas para recuperar seus dados; ou notificar diretamente \u00e0s autoridades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
