We already enjoyed Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now it can be the time to give back with the #GivingTuesday,<\/strong> an annual tradition that started in the United States in 2012.  It\u2019s usually done every Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and the day this time is December 1st<\/sup> for most countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On every #GivingTuesday you can do some good for others by joining the volunteers in several causes or donating some funds to NGOs. Since the last year and thanks to the firm The Giving Block<\/a>, this movement it\u2019s also present inside the crypto-world as #BitcoinTuesday. They bring together in their platform an NGO list and let them accept donations in cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And they have great news. While the last year they just managed to bring along 12 non-profits, this 2020 the list has grown a lot, because at least 120 organizations are taking part in it. They\u2019re opened from now to receive 12 different cryptos, including Bitcoin (BTC)<\/a>, <\/strong>Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC)<\/a>, DAI, and Zcash (ZEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this #GivingTuesday, everyone can donate to their preferred organization from the Giving Block\u2019s official webpage, and search by category within the long list. These include Animals, Arts, Children, Disaster Response, Environment, Health<\/a>, Hunger, Human Rights, Racial Justice, Women, Technology, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid the participating non-profits, we have names like Save the Children, Direct Relief, Animal Charity Evaluators, Count Basie Center for the Arts, International Medical Corps, Trees for the Future, Global Liberty Alliance, EngenderHealth, Code to Inspire, and even The Tor Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond #GivingTuesday<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s worth to mention that, besides the charitable act itself, this can be also a good way to reduce taxes<\/a> where cryptocurrencies are considered property.<\/strong> The donor just needs to share their data instead of contributing anonymously. According to The Giving Block:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c[This] is typically the most tax-efficient way to support your favorite cause. When donating crypto, you receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. That means you\u2019re able to donate more, as well as deduct more on your tax return\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Of course, if you want to donate some cryptos, The Giving Block isn\u2019t the only way. BitGive (with its GiveTrack<\/a>) it\u2019s also a good alternative that offers several projects and NGOs. Additionally, this December 1st<\/sup> is also World AIDS Day<\/strong>, and there are some charities out there taking care of it and accepting cryptocurrencies.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the #GivingTuesday on The Giving Block, EngenderHealth is a good example. Beyond that, UNICEF is another international charity fighting AIDS in poor communities, especially in children. The important thing is to take part, in whatever way you can and prefer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
